Kim Ki-Duk director of The Isle and Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter ... and Spring is arguably one of Korea's most innovative and exciting filmmakers and this film is no exception. A middle-aged woman tries in vain to track down the American soldier who fathered her child but one after the other her letters are returned with the words address unknown stamped across them. Her son, already a subject of social scorn falls in love with a high school girl who has found herself trapped in an abusive relationship with an American G.I. The boy's love for the girl combined with his free-floating rage against society soon fuel a violent outburst that will change the lives of everyone involved.Representing his first foray into the depiction of politics, Kim Ki-Duk once again courts with controversy in what is a truly harrowing piece of film making.
