Boasting black and white cinematography, carefully constructed other-worldly soundscapes and a cast of well drawn slacker oddballs, Icelandic director Dagur Kari’s follow-up to Noi Albinoi is an offbeat delight. Daniel (Jakob Cedergren) is an irresponsible but charming young Copenhagen graffiti artist who doesn't care even though everybody is trying to track him down: Parking attendants, landlords, bills and the police. One day he falls in love with Franc (Tilly Scott Pedersen), a girl just as reckless and fascinating as he is. All of a sudden his easy-going days are over as he comes face to face with a serious leap of faith. Featuring an impressive score by the director's band Slowblow, Kari - who intriguingly describes his aim as wishing to create what would have happened if Krzysztof Kieslowski directed an episode of Seinfeld - has crafted an innovative and beguiling second feature that offers an idiosyncratic glimpse into an outsider's personal odyssey.
