Lynn Markham (Crawford) moves into a beach house that belonged to her deceased husband shortly after the previous tennant, Eloise Crandall (Judith Evelyn), mysteriously dies.

Lynn meets handsome beachcomber Drummond 'Drummy' Hall (Chandler), who she takes a disliking to at first but is gradually won over by his charms.

After the two marry, however, Lynn grows suspicious of Drummy and begins to wonder if he is responsible for Eloise's death...
