It's election year in Jamaica. Politics and tribal violence divide the country. Derrick is a teenager who dreams of being an Olympic boxer but is forbidden by his Father to attend a boxing gym situated in a rival part of town. But he is talented and decides to follow his fists until he is selected to box for the national team. When the local gang leader tries to blackmail him into losing a fight, Derrick and his family get caught up in a spiral of violence. A bitter gang war explodes resulting in tragic consequences, but can revenge give way to the beginnings of unity...
