Sounds Of Sand DVD
The village well has run dry. The livestock are dying. Trusting their instinct, most of the villagers leave and head south. Rahne (Isaka Sawadogo), the only literate one, decides to head east. His wife, three children, some goats and Chamelle, a dromedary, are his only riches. Rahne and his family travel across hostile lands under a lethal sun, walking endlessly onwards and frequently crossing paths with death. Not only is there no water but civil war has also broken out. Will Rahne and his family find aid? Sound of Sands ("Si Le Vent Souleve Les Sables") is an amazing tale of exodus and hope that has a wonderful soundtrack, is beautifully photographed and is masterfully directed. Anyone who has ever worried about the plight of Africa should see this film - to really understand the problem.
