Star Trek - The Next Generation Season 1 DVD
Star Trek: The Next Generation (TNG) focuses on the 24th century adventures of Captain Jean-Luc Picard aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise (NCC-1701-D). This incarnation of the famous starship is much larger than the one captained by James T. Kirk a century earlier, and, accordingly, it carries a larger crew complement: 1,012 men, women…and, surprisingly, children. This era’s Starfleet Command believes that men and women are more likely to sign up for long-term exploratory missions if they think of their ship as home. Thus, Picard’s crew enjoys many of the comforts they’d have otherwise left behind, including a wide variety of recreational opportunities, “replicated” food dishes to suit every palate, and quarters large enough to share with spouses and offspring. There are schools for the children and a bar (stocked with synthetic alcohol, or synthehol) where the adults can unwind. However, the ongoing mission—no longer limited to a mere five years—remains virtually the same as it was during Kirk’s time: to seek out new life and new civilizations, and to boldly go where no one has gone before.Episodes 1-4 Encounter At Farpoint, Part I: 41153.7 Embarking on their first mission, the new Enterprise crew meets the super-being QEncounter At Farpoint, Part II: 41153.7 Picard investigates the Farpoint mystery, knowing that failure will bring death to his crew. The Naked Now: 41209.2 An intoxicating disease disables the crew as the Enterprise is pulled towards a collapsing star.Code Of Honor: 41235.25 A kidnapped Tasha Yar fights for her life against the jealous wife of her abductor.Episodes 5-8 The Last Outpost: 41386.4 Challenging Ferengi bandits about stolen equipment, Riker finds the thief is a more powerful opponent.Where No One Has Gone Before: 41263.1 The crew is propelled over a billion light years from our galaxy by an unusual force.Lonely Among Us: 41249.3 Hostile aliens take control of the minds of Crusher, Worf and Picard, with fatal consequences.Justice: 41255.6 On a seemingly perfect planet, Wesley is sentenced to death while the Enterprise is “judged”.Episodes 9-12 The Battle: 41723.9 A revengeful Ferengi uses Picard's old ship to spring a trap on the captain.Hide And Q: 41590.5 Q tempts Riker with an offer to join the Continuum.
