Star Trek - The Next Generation Season 2 DVD
Star Trek: The Next Generation (TNG) focuses on the 24th century adventures of Captain Jean-Luc Picard aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise (NCC-1701-D). This incarnation of the famous starship is much larger than the one captained by James T. Kirk a century earlier, and, accordingly, it carries a larger crew complement: 1,012 men, women…and, surprisingly, children. This era’s Starfleet Command believes that men and women are more likely to sign up for long-term exploratory missions if they think of their ship as home. Thus, Picard’s crew enjoys many of the comforts they’d have otherwise left behind, including a wide variety of recreational opportunities, “replicated” food dishes to suit every palate, and quarters large enough to share with spouses and offspring. There are schools for the children and a bar (stocked with synthetic alcohol, or synthehol) where the adults can unwind. However, the ongoing mission—no longer limited to a mere five years—remains virtually the same as it was during Kirk’s time: to seek out new life and new civilizations, and to boldly go where no one has gone before. Episodes 1-4 The Child: 42073.1 Deanna Troi gives birth to a rapidly-aging child who could bring death to the entire crew. Where Silence Has Lease: 42193.6 The Enterprise is threatened by an intelligent holographic version of Sherlock Holmes' nemesis, Professor Moriarty. The Outrageous Okona: 42402.7 The Enterprise picks up a charming but roguish trader, landing Picard in a diplomatic struggle. Episodes 5-8 Loud As A Whisper: 42477.2 Civil war looms when an important diplomat is attacked and silenced aboard Enterprise. The Schizoid Man: 42437.5 A dying genius cheats death by transferring his personality into Data's android body. Unnatural Selection: 42494.8 Doctor Pulaski faces premature death from old age when she contracts a bizarre aging disease. A Matter Of Honor: 42506.5 Riker joins the Klingon cruiser “Pagh”, where promotion is earned by killing your superiors! Episodes 9-12 The Measure Of A Man: 42523.7 Data must fight a senior Starfleet scientist's attempts to disassemble him. The Dauphin: 42568.8 Wesley befriends an attractive young female dignitary with a hidden and potentially dangerous secret. Contagion: 42609.1 Incapacitated by an alien computer virus, the Enterprise faces destruction by Romulan aggressors. The Royale: 42625.4 Worf, Data and Riker are trapped in a bizarre casino containing ancient human remains. Episodes 13-16 Time Squared: 42679.2 Confused and unable to communicate, Picard's double appears from six hours into the future. The Icarus Factor: 42686.4 An embittered Riker confronts his father, while Worf's friends arrange a violent traditional ritual for him. Pen Pals: 42695.3 Wesley's first mission: to protect an alien girl with whom Data has been communicating illicitly. Q Who?: 42761.3 Challenging human arrogance, the superbeing Q introduces the Enterprise to a deadly enemy: the Borg. Episodes 17-20 Samaritan Snare: 42779.1 Captured by slow-witted but ruthless Pakleds, Geordi must be safely retrieved from the dangerous aliens. Up The Long Ladder: 42823.2 A dying race of clones pressures Picard to provide “fresh” DNA for breeding purposes. Manhunt: 42859.2 When Lwaxana Troi's sex drive is quadrupled, Picard seeks refuge in the holodeck. The Emissary: 42901.3 When K'Ehleyr returns to revive a sleeping Klingon crew, Worf's feelings for his former lover re-awaken. Episodes 21-22 Peak performance: 42923.4 When an arrogant tutor causes Picard to provoke a powerful vessel, the unpredictable Riker saves the day. Shades Of Gray: 42976.1 Pulaski invokes increasingly dangerous therapy when an organism attacks Riker's central nervous system.
