Star Trek - The Next Generation Season 5 DVD
Star Trek: The Next Generation (TNG) focuses on the 24th century adventures of Captain Jean-Luc Picard aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise (NCC-1701-D). This incarnation of the famous starship is much larger than the one captained by James T. Kirk a century earlier, and, accordingly, it carries a larger crew complement: 1,012 men, women… and, surprisingly, children. This era’s Starfleet Command believes that men and women are more likely to sign up for long-term exploratory missions if they think of their ship as home. Thus, Picard’s crew enjoys many of the comforts they’d have otherwise left behind, including a wide variety of recreational opportunities, “replicated” food dishes to suit every palate, and quarters large enough to share with spouses and offspring. There are schools for the children and a bar (stocked with synthetic alcohol, or synthehol) where the adults can unwind. However, the ongoing mission—no longer limited to a mere five years—remains virtually the same as it was during Kirk’s time: to seek out new life and new civilizations, and to boldly go where no one has gone before. Episodes 1–4 Redemption, Part II: 45020.4 Picard discovers Romulan involvement in the Klingon Civil War, while Worf is kidnapped and tortured. Darmok: 45047.2 Facing danger on a hostile planet, Picard joins forces with an alien whose language is unintelligible. Ensign Ro: 45076.3 A troubled young officer whose disobedience caused eight deaths joins the Enterprise. Silicon Avator: 45122.3 The Enterprise encounters the deadly Crystalline entity and Dr. Kila Marr plans to destroy the being. Episodes 5-8 Disaster: 45156.1 Disaster strikes, leaving Troi in command, Data dismembered, and Picard in his own personal purgatory. The Game: 45208.2 Returning from Risa, Riker brings back a highly addictive and subtly dangerous game. Unification, Part I: 45236.4 Ambasador Spock defects to the Romulan Empire. Picard and Data attempt to infiltrate the Romulan homeworld. Unification, Part II: 45245.8 Riker and the disguised Picard discover a plan to conquer the Vulcan homeworld. Episodes 9-12 A Matter Of Time: 45349.1 A traveller from the future expresses a suspicious level of interest in Enterprise' “historical artefacts”. New Ground: 45376.3 Worf's human foster parents persuade him to take custody of his unruly son, Alexander. Hero Worship: 45397.3 The lone survivor of the USS Vico is a boy who soon bonds with Data. Violations: 42429.3 When a crewmember suffers “mental rape”, three Ullian telepaths visiting the Enterprise are investigated. Episodes 13-16 The Masterpiece Society: 45470.1 A society genetically planned and engineered to be “perfect” is threatened by a well-meaning Enterprise. Conundrum: 45494.2 After being scanned by alien ship, the crew discovers that their memories have been erased. Power Play: 45571.2 Troi, Data and O'Brien seem possessed by spirits from a two-hundred-year-old Starfleet vessel. Ethics: 45587.3 Paralysed from the waist down, Worf refuses medical treatment and claims his right to ritual suicide. Episodes 17-20 The Outcast: 45614.6 An alien forms an attraction to Riker, and is sentenced to “curative” brainwashing. Cause And Effect: 45652.1 The crew is caught in a temporal loop which always ends with the Enterprise's destruction. The First Duty: 45703.9 Picard suspects Wesley of joining the cover-up of a training death at Starfleet Academy. Cost Of Living: 45733.6 Lwaxana Troi returns to the Enterprise to marry a man she has never met. Episodes 21-24 The Perfect Mate: 45761.3 Two Ferengi attempt to steal a beautiful woman who will become what any man wants! Imaginary Friend: 45832.1 A little girl's imaginary friend begins to lead her trouble, then attacks Deanna Troi. I Borg: 45854.2 Rescuing a single lost Borg, Picard is ordered to use it to destroy the Collective. The Next Phase: 45092.4 Geordi and Ro cannot be seen or heard by their crewmates: they are effectively “dead”! Episodes 25-26 The Inner Light: 45944.1 Picard finds himself locked in a universe where he is a simple iron weaver. Time's Arrow, Part I: 45959.1 Investigating aliens in Earth's past, the Enterprise crew discovers the severed head of Android officer Data!
