The Deep Blue Sea DVD
Oscar winner Rachel Weisz (The Constant Gardener) shines as Hester Collyer, a young woman leading a privileged life in 1950's London as the beautiful wife of high court judge Sir William Collyer (BAFTA Winner Simon Russell Beale). To the shock of those around her, she leaves her husband for dashing young ex-RAF pilot Freddie Page (Tom Hiddleston - War Horse, Archipelago), with whom she has fallen passionately in love. Adapted from Terence Rattigan's 1952 play, and masterfully directed by Terence Davies, The Deep Blue Sea is a study of forbidden love, suppressed desire and the fear of loneliness - but is at heart deeply moving love story. Stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea, what - or - whom - should Hester choose?
