Lon Chaney, the man of a thousand faces, stars in this, the original adaptation of Gaston Leroux celebrated novel. When the Phantom falls in love with the voice of a young opera singer (Mary Philbin) he drags her to the catacombs beneath the Paris Opera House and forces her to sing only for him. This startling new restoration of Rupert Julian's lavish production is accompanied by Carl Davis' celebrated score, and complimented by a wealth of special features including original trailers, a sequence from the sound reissue version, and the 1925 version of the film presented in full High Definition.
