Bal: The young boy Yusef's best friend is his father, who supports his family's modest life with the honey he collects from tall trees in the forests of the remote Turkish countryside, Yusuf is a quiet boy, and his mother is concerned for his future. Perhaps he will follow in his father's footsteps, or perhaps school will offer him other opportunities. But the honey crop is failing, and Yusuf's father doesn't return home from the forest. Sut: Recent high school graduate Yusuf is uncertain about his future in the provincial countryside. Writing poetry is his greatest passion and some of his poems are starting to be published in obscure literary journals. But for the time being, he continues working in his single mother's village milk business, also with an uncertain future. Will young Yusef be able to handle the changes in his oeaceful existence? Or will he be forced to move to the big city or seek a job in one of the many factories threatening the unspoiled landscape?

Yumurta: Poet Yusuf returns to his childhood hometown, which he hadn't visited for years, upon his mother's death. A young girl, Ayla awaits him in a crumbling house. Yusuf has been unaware of the existence of this distant relation who had been living with his mother for five years. Ayla has something to ask of Yusuf. Yusuf is obliged to perform the sacrifice his mother Zehra had been prevented by death from fulfilling.
