Waiting Women DVD

Waiting Women DVD
Ingmar Bergman's tenth film as director was his first foray into the realm of comedy. Made after the international success of A Summer Interlude, Waiting Women was released to favourable reviews and continues to delight viewers to this day. While a group of women, all of them sisters-in-law, wait for their husbands to join them for a long-overdue reunion in an old summer villa, they talk over coffee. As their conversation turns to the subject of marriage the oldest sister, Martha, discusses her relationship with the oldest son. Thus begins a frank and revealing series of confessions exposing past indiscretions and marital secrets. All the while Marta's unmarried younger sister, Maj, has wedding plans of her own.....This witty and elegant film was originally released in Britain in a cut version, with an 'X' certificate. Now, over half a century later Tartan Video is proud to present the film digitally remastered and in its complete version for the first time ever in the UK.
