Weekender DVD
1990. England. A revolution is building across the UK. Dilapidated warehouses and factories come to life at night. Euphoric teens defy police bans and cordons to embrace life and hit the dancefloor. Acid house has arrived and friends Matt (Henry Lloyd-Hughes) and Dylan (Jack O'Connell) are at the heart of it. This is their story. Tired of scamming their way through life, Matt and Dylan put together their first rave with the help of their mates and the maddest DJ on the scene, Captain Acid (Tom Meeton). When their success catches the eye of a London clubbing kingpin the boys are whisked away into the VIP world of Ibiza villas, cash, dancefloor anthems, drugs and temptation. As their success grows rival promoter and gangster John the Rat (Ben Batt) threatens everything that Matt and Dylan have worked for. What begins as a celebration of music and friendship soon turns dark, dangerous and deadly. Weekender is the hard hitting, hard partying celebration of the rave era and features a soundtrack of classic anthems compiled by legendary DJ, Terry Farley.
