When Mitchell (Duhamel), a handsome middle-aged man who gave up his music and ambitions for a desk job and family, embarks on a road trip with old friend Carter (Fogler) chaos and tension quickly escalates. Carter, a scruffy underemployed writer, who serves as chauffeur as the two trek through the unforgiving desert, seizes the moment to stage a breakdown and express his feelings on his friend abandoning his dreams and marrying the wrong woman. His decision quickly proves fatal when arguments intensify and their friendship is pushed to its destructive limits.
