When James and his beloved golden retriever Rex find an out-of-this-world capsule in his garden, his life changes forever. The strange pod identifies itself as Roborex - a robot dog from the future who has travelled back in time to tell James he must embark on a heroic quest to stop the evil Professor Apocalypse, and his wily sidekick Destructo-Cat, from taking over the world.

After hot-shot team member Ace breaks ranks on a dangerous mission and it results in tragedy, he leaves Sky Force for a dreary job in cargo hauling.
