  • Synopsis
From director John Ford (The Last Hurrah) comes Gideon’s Day, a tense police procedural starring Jack Hawkins (Fortune Is a Woman), Dianne Foster (The Brothers Rico), and Cyril Cusack (The Taming of the Shrew).

Crooked colleagues, escaped lunatics, bloody payroll heists, overzealous junior officers, and a gang of aristocratic bank robbers... All in a day's work for Detective Inspector George Gideon (Hawkins). And all obstacles preventing him from attending his daughter’s violin recital.

Known in the US as Gideon of Scotland Yard, Gideon’s Day was shot on location in London by the great Freddie Young (Lawrence of Arabia, The Deadly Affair), and is adapted from the first novel in the best-selling series by legendary crime writer John Creasey (aka J J Marric).
